Alison Walker BA (Hons) MMus ARCM LTCL MISM

alison_walkerAlison Walker studied recorder and cello at Royal Holloway, University of London and Vienna
Conservatoire, graduating with First Class Honours, and postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama. Alison enjoys a varied and stimulating performing career, as a soloist on recorder and in orchestras and chamber ensembles as a cellist. She has given recorder concerto performances in St John’s, Smith Square and St James’  Piccadilly, London, Bristol and Norwich Cathedrals, Germany and Austria.

She has a passion for music education and inclusive music making, and is much in demand as a music workshop leader, delivering workshops and musical
collaborations for organisations including the BBC Proms, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, ABRSM, Barbican, Royal College of Music, Music for Youth, and the Royal Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall.

She recently led workshops for the scholars of the Mayors Musical Fund at London’s City Hall. Alison is also regularly invited to lead creative coaching sessions for instrumental and class music teachers.

Alison is Recorder Tutor at Royal Holloway, University of London and teaches cello and recorder at all levels in schools and privately. Alison also teaches on the Royal College of Music’s undergraduate Outreach Module, and is a Music Mentor (adjudicator) for Music for Youth’s Regional and National Festivals.
