About Us
The Woodley Festival of Music and Arts, affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals, is dedicated to promoting the performing arts to children and young people.
Our Aims and Objectives
Established in 1970 this yearly event exists to inspire, encourage and support the art of performance.
The festival continues its affiliation with the British and International Federation of Festivals and continues to adhere to the recommendations and guidelines set out by the Federation.
The Festival takes place over three weekends each March and consists of five sections, Choral, Vocal, Instrumental, Pianoforte and Speech & Drama.
The Festival is primarily focused on providing a safe and encouraging environment for children and young adults to explore and take part in the performing arts – though each year we welcome adult and amateur performers alongside.
Our independent and higly qualified adjudicators offer verbal and written feedback and medals are awarded for each class.
The Festival also sometimes organises workshops to assist artistic development.
Following the festival we hold our Finale Performance. This is an intimate and elegant event designed to showcase the range of extraordinary talent that we have hosted over our three weekends – each performer will receive a formal invite.
Safeguarding
We recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.
Our Child Protection policy is reviewed every year. Child Protection Policy.
